Bose L1 Model 1 Review Continued

We tried out the Bose system L1 Model 1 at the concert this past weekend.  It was very easy to setup and worked great.  The Sure Beta 87A Mic did not sound great through the unit.  The tracks seemed separate from my vocals so we didn't use them.  But, for the acoustic and the Heil mic, it sounded great.  I thought about testing the Model 2 because the base unit on the Model 1 is pretty heavy.  I guess it's not to bad, but for another $900, you can get the Model 2 with the small base. I ran the iTunes directly from my mac and we used a simple Yamaha mixer.  I think that you need a better mixer with more eq and compression to make the mics really sing with this system.  The bass response was great.  It wasn't thumping from my guitar or anything that I have experienced from other systems with subs.  Now they are on sale in May and we are seriously considering the purchase. I had to set it up and tear down twice and I was able to do it myself in about 5 min or less.  The bags are a must for this system so I hope they come with it.  I don't think you would need hard cases like I have seen though.   I didn't get to pump the system because of the venue we were in but I could tell that it was loud and I had more room to go if I needed it.  It was smooth all over the room.  We sat up close to the system.  Next time I would set it off to the side a bit.  This was the easiest and best sounding system I have used in a portable setting.
